Training

Training is given the utmost priority by staff and management within our service. We provide induction training in line with The Children’s Workforce Development Council for trainee/new staff and this is focused on for the first 6 months of employment. We provide a wide range of in house training of topics such as self harm, communication skills, lifestory and direct work and supervision skills. Alongside this, staff complete all statutory training inline with Ofsted requirements.

Senior staff hold a number of relevant qualifications including the NVQ Level 4 in Management of Care Services, ILM Awards in First Line Management and a BA in Social Work. Residential Care Workers either hold the NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or are currently working towards the Diploma Level 3 which replaced the NVQ 3 in April 2011.

All CSFC staff follow an individual Qualifications Pathway plan and Personal Development Plan and we are committed to the development of the individual staff member in all aspects of their personal and professional development. We actively encourage staff to investigate training opportunities within the wider community and fund appropriate courses. We currently hold the Investors in People award where are commitment to training and development has been noted.

We are able to provide student placements within our company and have previously provided a number of successful placements for students from Reading and Brunel University. To register your interest in a student placement with us then please contact us (see contact page.)
